TRIAL INFORMATION

We get together before the wedding day and have a full consultation discussing the look you'd like created on your wedding day. We'll go through all your likes/dislikes and design a look together that you feel comfortable with and will photograph beautifully. Its always a good idea if you can combine the date of your makeup trial along with a dress fitting or your hair trial so you can see how it all looks together. I only use premium beauty ranges such as Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel and Bobbi Brown & MAC which have been chosen for their innovative products and staying power, perfect for bridal makeup

How long & where?

Trial sessions can last in between 1-2 hours so we have enough time to try as many looks as you like. I want my brides to be completely happy and satisfied with how they look and feel. Sessions normally take place at my base in south Birmingham.

What happens?

We start by exploring the theme of your wedding - whether that be a more relaxed bohemian vibe or more romantic manor house chic- this can guide the style of the makeup. Mood boards are a great way to pull together all the colours and styles you like for inspiration. If you have any pictures of your dress / hair styles then feel free to bring them along.  We'll go through your current makeup and skincare routine and discuss your favourites. If you come wearing your day makeup that's a great for me to see what type of thing you're used to. If you've discovered any holy grail products then feel free to bring them along to incorporate into the look. We build each step of the makeup in front of a mirror so the look can be guided and formed gradually with your feedback. Don't worry if you're not normally a makeup wearer and not sure where to start - I hear this a lot and can advise some great products and design a look you'll be comfortable wearing all day long. You'd be surprised how many people discover the subtle power of individual lashes at the trial and become total converts!

And then?

Then the makeup's yours to wear for the day and road test - a great opportunity to be taken out for dinner in the evening all glammed up rather than going home or doing a big-shop! I note down all the products used and take photos so I can recreate the look again on the big day. We finish with a discussion of timings for the morning and any special makeup requirements for bridal party members. I follow up a few days after the trial to see if you had any feedback and if we need to make any tweaks on the day. Some answers to frequently asked questions can be found here.
